Bouton Physical Therapy has a top-notch staff!

R. Christopher Bouton, P.T., Dip. MDT

In 1987, I graduated from RFA and that fall started at Canisius Collge. I earned a BA in biochemistry and went on to the SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse and received a BS in Physical Therapy. I began my career in Rome with Tom Wick Physical Therapy and was later employed as Senior Physical Therapist at Chestnut Commons Physical Therapy.

During my career I also obtained a diploma in the McKenzie method of mechanical diagnosis and treatment. This is a rare honor and only a couple of hundred people in the country have this. It was a pleasure to have the privilege to study the McKenzie method for three months in the intensive program in Minnesota.

I opened the doors to Bouton Physical Therapy in April of 2001. Being a small business owner has proven to be a challenging, yet, exciting opportunity. I continue to look forward to offering my hometown community the best care possible.

Since 2001, we have grown the business to great proportions remodeling and expanding twice and growing our support staff to 14.

Bouton PT always welcomes new therapists to join our team; there is great potential to build a long and lasting career.

I reside in the town of Lee with my wife, Jessie and son, Cruz. I enjoy boating, snowmobiling and spending time with family and friends.

Eric Furbeck, MSPT

I've been with Bouton Physical Therapy since 2002. I came to Rome in 1998 with intentions of a short stay. Now I've been practicing here more than 10 years. I'm happily married to a Roman, Erika, and we live here in Rome. I was born and raised in Syracuse, graduated from Henninger High School and received my Master's from Ithaca College in 1998.

My experience in physical therapy includes acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, nursing home, home health, and outpatient orthopedic settings. I'm always furthering my clinical skills with continuing education.

When I'm not working, I'm enjoying time with my wife and daughters, Brynn and Amelia, and other family and friends — most of whom are now in this area. I am also active with church and enjoy snowboarding, mountain biking, and playing basketball.

Jennifer Beaton, P.T., DPT

I graduated from the University at Buffalo with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2010. I have had clinical experiences in acute care, pediatrics, and long term care. I am honored to have joined the Bouton team and thoroughly enjoy my time here.

Throughout my college career I have participated in many volunteer opportunities and have been involved with the sport of figure skating for the past 17 years. The volunteer programs that I have worked with include Gliding Stars: a skating program for disabled children and adults, Relay for Life and March of Dimes. Not only did I compete in college but I also coached as well. One aspect of physical therapy that I love is incorporating my coaching and athletic skills with treatment.

In my free time you can find me snowmobiling, boating, running road races and spending time with my friends and family. I was raised in Clinton and currently reside there.

Jeffrey A. Brown, PTA

I graduated from Onondaga Community College in 1999 with an Associates degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant. I have worked in outpatient rehab for the past ten years. In that time I have taken many continuing education courses including spine care, lower extremity assessment, advances in shoulder treatment and many more. I have been working at Bouton Physical Therapy for five years now and am enjoying it very much. It is a friendly, team oriented atmosphere which makes it more enjoyable for our patients.

I live in Camden with my wife, Joann, and our two boys, Cole and Ethan. I really enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love the outdoors and spend as much time hunting and fishing as I can.

Kevin Ziesenitz, PTA

I completed an internship at Bouton Physical Therapy when I was a student in the Herkimer County Community College Physical Therapist Assistant Program in 2009. I enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly patients so much that I knew I wanted to be a member of the Bouton team. I officially joined Bouton Physical Therapy as a physical therapist assistant in June 2010 after graduating from Herkimer County Community College with an Associate's in Applied Science Degree. I am looking forward to taking classes to continue my education and to working with the patients at Bouton Physical Therapy.

Outside of the office, I enjoy golfing, running, cycling, hiking, and spending time with my wonderful wife, Sara and our dog, Elliot. We currently reside in Utica.

“I have been using Bouton Physical Therapy for nearly two years, originally for therapy, and currently for exercising. The staff is friendly, courteous, and compassionate. This congenial atmosphere makes it a pleasure to use the facility. The exercises help with the physical cure, and the warm friendly atmosphere raised my spirits.”
